The last train station
by Wayne Pollard
Can or can it not be said
that a passage of scribed thoughts from
the revelation
reveals
that out of a river red gum forest resting
on the banks of the Murray River time
transmits ancient states of being and
gives home to a spiritual life?
The Murray River degraded
itself a tributary to our Mother Earth
tells modern stories of its lack of love
and respect for Mother Earth.
Modern man’s greed exploits all and every
aspect of our life-giving planet.
The Sydney Opera House becomes a billboard
for the sport of self-appointed kings
our prime minister in his disrespectful
theological practice allowing the Opera
House sails to be given over for the
purpose of greed.
The Barrier Reef awaits a sludge from the
mining of coal to enter its waters.
Again, Mother Earth is battered and abused.
The drought, the consequences of
thoughtless input, will slowly bring about
retribution from Mother Earth
as we all gather at the Last Train Station.
