Bio Statements: Formatting/ Submitting

Our team is small: only Australian contributors may submit work here.
You need to give a biographical statement, just once (max. 50 wds).
PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THIS BIO STATEMENT ALL IN CAPS XXX
Start with your name - write prose, in the third person (she/ he/ they).
Name the city/ suburb/ town/ region/ state/ territory where you live.
Feel welcome to acknowledge traditional owners of country.
Sum up achievements/ involvements as a writer/ prizes/ publications.
Add a sense of your working life/ other interests too, if you wish.

Longer Poems: Formatting/ Submitting

PLEASE DO NOT PRESENT LONGER POEMS ALL IN CAPS XXX
Do not repeat your name/ the title for longer poetry in a text box here.
Use the Enter key to show spaces between stanzas/ sections.
These won’t count as part of the thirty (30) lines maximum per piece.
Place-names can be given above/ below (also not counting in lines).
You can offer up to three (3) longer poems: put each in its own box.
If text is shaped (gaps in lines/ symmetrical), describe below, in box.

Tanka Submission


Tanka: Formatting/ Submitting

  • Our team is small: only Australian contributors may submit work here.
    PLEASE DO NOT PRESENT TANKA ALL IN CAPS XXX
    You can offer up to five (5) tanka, placing all such pieces in one box.
    A sequence of four (4) tanka can be submitted, with a title & sub-title.
    Give the text for each tanka distinctly, with an Enter gap in between.
    Don’t repeat your name there: do not give titles to stand-alone tanka.
    Each piece has to be five (5) lines long, true to English Lang Tanka.
    A 5-7-5-7-7 count is not needed: aim for shorter-longer/ less is best.
    Place-names can appear above/ below poems (not to count as lines).
    If text is shaped (gaps in lines/ symmetrical), describe below, in box.
