by MARILYN HUMBERT
Midnight beast growls,
polished steel poised to pounce
our witching hour-black Susie
rumbles impatient for an answer
to the summons to prowl.
Slick leather zipped,
dreaming…
yesterday’s back roads
carving the camber, green-laning
where gravel and bitumen divide
the uninitiated and us.
We chase the sun’s steady eye
the moon-siren arc.
Disciples high on freedom-roaming.
Our wind tousled hair.
Note – witching hour black see Benjamin Moore Aust.
